Obituary for
Alan J. Caye
Alan Jason Caye, born December 4 1955, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 29, 2018.
He was born to Lucy and Louis Caye, Sr. in Polson Montana. He spent his childhood going to school and growing up in Elmo, MT.
He attended Polson High School and was part of the Pirates basketball program. After high school he ventured out to attend trade school and was a journeyman carpenter, which he continued to do through his adult life. Alan was a hard worker and did everything with pride, including working for the BIA Irrigation project for many years.
Alan always had the biggest heart for helping people. During one of his furloughs, he volunteered to go to New Orleans to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. He was the first one there to help whenever anyone was doing a project or needed help.
Alan loved traveling to All-Indian basketball tournaments with his brothers. He was also an avid stickgame player who travelled with his parents, siblings, and any other family who wanted a ride, all over the northwest to play. In the summer he enjoyed going camping and berry picking and in the fall he was out hunting with his children, brothers, and nephews to make sure everyone who needed meat had it.
Alan loved life to the fullest. He also loved spending time with his family at BBQs, fishing, and anything else that made him smile.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father (Louis and Lucy), and sister Loraine.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren Patryce (Matt) Caye (Jonah and Lucas), Tiffany Hickok, Johnson (Barbara) Caye (Harlow and Keegan), Dylan Caye, and Jalen Caye. Thirteen brothers and sisters, Jimmy (Diane) Auld, Earl (Darlene) Auld, Douglas Caye, Willie Caye, Evelyn (DJ) Joseph, Monica (James) Caye, Wanda Caye, Joan Miller, Jr (Gigi) Caye, Rosemary Caye, Debra Caye, Marilyn Caye, and Art Caye, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
